A business can get a loan in Australia in as little as 24 hours when the funding is arranged through a broker and a non-bank funding partner, compared with weeks at a bank. With Zupo, the application takes about 3 minutes, an offer can come back in as little as 3 hours, and funds can be in your account in as little as 24 hours once approved. Those are the fastest realistic figures, not a guarantee.
Here is a realistic timeline, what makes the difference between 24 hours and a few days, and how to keep your own application moving.
The realistic timeline
Each stage has its own clock, and most of the delay in any application sits with the information, not the decision.
- Apply: about 3 minutes. Your ABN, a few details about the business, how much you need and what it is for. See how to apply in 3 minutes for the full checklist.
- Answer: in hours. The application is assessed on how your business is trading. An offer can come back in as little as 3 hours.
- Funds: as little as 24 hours. Once you accept an approved offer, money can be in your account in as little as 24 hours. The Fast Business Loan is built for exactly this kind of speed.
Those are the fastest realistic figures, not promises for every file. A straightforward application with clean statements moves quickly. One with gaps does not.
Why non-bank funding is faster than a bank
A traditional bank loan is usually assessed against strict criteria, often wants property as security and moves through several internal steps, which is why it can take weeks. Short-term funding arranged through a broker is unsecured and assessed on how your business is trading, using the bank statements you supply. There is no valuation to wait on and no business plan to write. That is what compresses the process from weeks to hours.
The trade-off is cost. Short-term non-bank funding costs more than a bank loan, so speed is something you pay for. It makes sense when the cost of waiting, a missed pay run, a supplier who will not ship or an ATO bill that keeps growing, is bigger than the cost of the money. Our guide to short-term business loans walks through how to weigh that, and the repayments are shown in the offer before you commit.
What "fast" really means
If you search for an urgent business loan, you will see a lot of confident claims. The accurate version is that an answer can come back in hours, and once an offer is approved and accepted, funds usually arrive in as little as 24 hours. Faster is sometimes possible, but it depends on when approval lands, whether your information is complete and the cut-off times of the banks involved. Applying early in the day with your documents ready gives it the best chance. Our page on same day business loans covers what is realistic.
Speed is mostly in your hands. A complete application is the fastest application.
What slows an application down
Three things cause most of the delays we see.
- Missing or old bank statements. The assessment leans on the last 6 months of business bank statements. If they are missing, incomplete or out of date, everything waits for them. This is the most common hold-up.
- A business at the edge of the minimums. The starting point is an active ABN or ACN, at least 3 months of trading and $10,000 a month in revenue. A business that has only just reached the 3 month mark has a thin history to assess, which can mean more questions before an offer. A business under 3 months of trading is below the minimum.
- An unclear purpose or amount. "As much as possible" is slow to assess. A specific amount and a specific job, such as a stock order, a payroll gap or an ATO bill, is quick.
How to speed it up
The quickest way to share your statements is to do it securely online, rather than sending PDFs back and forth. Zupo will send you a link to securely share your bank statements, which is read-only and takes a couple of minutes. Pair that with a clear amount and purpose and you remove the usual causes of delay.
- Have your ABN, ID and the last 6 months of business statements ready before you start.
- Share your statements through the secure link as soon as it arrives.
- Be clear on the amount and what it is for.
- Mention existing commitments and any credit history upfront, rather than letting them surface later. Defaults, bad credit and ATO debt are considered, and honesty saves time.
- Answer calls and messages from your Zupo specialist quickly. A short reply often unlocks the next step.
What about the credit check?
There is no upfront credit check, so asking for an indicative answer does not leave a mark on your credit file. A check only happens later, with your consent, if you choose to proceed. That is also why the early part of the process is quick: it runs on your trading, not on a credit enquiry. If that is a concern, read about business loans with no upfront credit check.

Apply in minutes, expect an answer in hours and funds in as little as 24 hours once approved. Most of the time you can save is in your own hands: current statements, a clear amount and a clear purpose. When you are ready, start with the application and a specialist will take it from there.
